Soccer: Soccer is played without any helmets, padding, etc. It is a sport that requires extreme fitness in all of its players but the most important player is the goalie-- why? because he is in total charge of preventing the opposing team from making a goal! While defenders and midfielders guide the ball to the goal line, the striker's main responsibility is to score a goal! Soccer is faster paced than American football although it is just implementing the VAR system (video system replay) and referees have increased from 3 to now 4 on the field and 3 viewing the video systems.
Like everything else, soccer is progressing and changing for the better. Although the rules for professional soccer are slightly different to those of youth soccer leagues the essence of the game remains the same: score goals and beat your opponent.
